Story Cloth acknowledges that we gather and share our work at the confluence of waters—where the North Esk and South Esk meet to create the estuary of kanamaluka. Long before colonial maps were drawn, this resource-rich river country was a vibrant crossroads for the Letteremairrener (Litarimirina), the Panninher (Panina), and the Pangerninghe peoples, who came together here to trade, celebrate, and speak life into Country.
We pay our deepest respects to Elders past and present. We celebrate the unbroken continuum of Aboriginal artists, makers, weavers, and storytellers who have gathered on this Country for over 60,000 years and we honour that enduring legacy, recognising that storytelling here is ancient, living, and unbroken.
Sovereignty has never been ceded.
